What isCIOF?
The INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF THE SCHOENSTATT FAMILY WORK is a space of encounter and communion among the various communities of the Family Work in Latin America. More than a congress, it seeks to bring together married couples and advisors to share experiences, strengthen bonds, and respond together to the challenges of marriage and family in today's world, inspired by the spirituality of Father Joseph Kentenich.

CIOF 2027

Costa Rica as the host country
The Schoenstatt Family Work in Costa Rica joyfully embraces the mission of hosting CIOF 2027 as a service to the entire international family.
We wish to offer a Congress lived in a spirit of family, closeness, and simplicity, where every participant can feel part of one great community.
Inspired by “Pura Vida”, the catchphrase of the “ticos”, as we Costa Ricans call ourselves, we hope to share a CIOF experience marked by joy, hope, and the ability to discover God in everyday life.
Costa Rica opens its doors and its heart, with the longing to strengthen bonds and renew the mission of every Schoenstatt family.

CIOF 2027 brings together 23 countries across 4 regions. Host country: Costa Rica.

Our motto:
“United Family, Shared Hope”
The family, when it lives united, becomes a source of hope for the world. The logo harmoniously integrates four fundamental elements:
Family
United in love, a seed of new life called to bear fruit in the world.
Shrine
Heart and source of graces, where the Mater educates, transforms, and sends.
Hope
Built and shared in community — a light the family offers to the world.
Life
Seed and sprout — a warm, spiritual, and deeply missionary identity.
The Costa Rican flag, woven into the design, gives the Congress its identity as an authentically Costa Rican experience.

Family of Hope
